Department Director’s Address
Laborers are the engines that drive social improvement and economic development. Government is responsible for the caring of the laborers’ work and lifestyles, and should also set these tasks as their priorities and obligations. Our responsibility should be providing our large population of entry-level laborers with welfare and services, safeguard and defend the laborers’ rights, ensure physical and psychological safety. Furthermore, we offer employers adequate information to promote employee-employer harmony and generate mutually beneficial agreements to increase employment for the underprivileged.
“Sense of Equality, Humanism, Safety, and Dignity,” signifies the vision and mission statements we declared to promote workplaces that safeguard the laborers.  The Department of Labor Affairs employs various supporting plans and programs for laborers to ensure workplace safety, improve employment prospects of underprivileged groups and the disabled. We also defend laborer welfare, and human rights protection of foreign laborers, of which, defense of laborer rights places great importance on occupational safety and employee-employer relationships. These are treated as important guidelines and objectives for the department when implementing laborer policies.
